Not once in our many years of JW marriage did I ever play the "headship" card. Nor did I think it made any sense.

When I was an elder we had one CO say flat out: " I decide who serves as the P.O."

i have such a love/hate, 50/50 relationship with this organization any more, but a letter was read to the elders and ministerial servants that has pushed me to the 30/70 range in favor of hate, if even momentarily.
most of you if not all are aware of the auxilliary pioneering initiative for this upcoming april.
it's no secret that i'm not real fond of pioneering as its unscriptural for one thing.
Our congregation had a show of hands so everyone could see who has already signed up.
No pressure there.

it's been my experience so far, that anything a person wants to find out about jehovahs witnesses, they can find out from jehovahs witnesses.
any and all information ever published by jehovah witnesses is accessible to all.
Plenty of posters on this board do exactly that.
And plenty of other posters, who aren't quite as foaming-at-the-mouth ticked off at the Organization, set the record straight when someone goes too far overboard with inaccurate exaggerations. (Blondie springs to mind as the patron Saint of JWN fact-checking.)
I used to spend quite a lot of time in my early days here correcting blatant misstatements by other posters. Why?
Because a JW who is having doubts will DESPERATELY look for and cling to the slightest misstatement of fact as evidence that the entire argument is specious. The JW true-believer is INCREDIBLY biased. (Actually this applies to all "true-believers".) Someone who challenges their world view must be 100% accurate. If they make even a single slip-up, the true-believer will throw out their entire argument because they are so heavily invested in the idea that they have THE TRUTH.

i just turned 20 years old.
like many i was raised as a jw.
"At work theres an elderly woman that I see every so often. She is beaming every single day"
No doubt she's helped you realize "worldly" people aren't all bad.
Here's some unsolicited advice.
1. Keep the peace with your parents if you can.
2. Let them know you NEED to get an education.
3. Make career, school and social contacts outside the JWs.
4. Enjoy your path.

hey all.. a few of you might remember me.
i showed up on a similar board a few years back because my wife was getting baptized.. it was a difficult time but i was able to work through it with a lot of prayer and help from a lot of smart folks here.. my wife has since left the organization, and the wt has faded into a tiny speck in our rearview mirror that we rarely talk about.. i have enjoyed being free from the watchtower driven life for awhile, and frankly i really needed it, but i also know that alot of people aren't so lucky.
insomnia and a sense of duty has compelled me to wander back in here.

i found this interesting, a 2009 kingdom ministry with reference to the branch office in guam.. .

the address for the guam branch office is watchtower bible and tract society, 143 jehovah street, barrigada, gu 96913.. it peaked my curiosity so i decided to see what this street looks like from satellite.
The pink "Jehovah Street" in the first post looks somewhat phallic to me.

mine will surely give me away, but i don't care.
when i was preggers, i was supposed to have a c-section the first week of the new month.
so i knew i needed to go out in service so i would not be irregular that month.
So, I'm bored out of my gourd at the K Hall, and figure I'll fiddle with my new cell phone to get it configured properly for Watchtower Study stealth mode.
I've got the camera function going and am trying to make sure it's in "silent" mode. (You can probably guess where this ends up.) It's been an unusually long, boring WT study, and the conductor asks:
WT Conductor: "Could we please have a volunteer to read Ensnooziastes 7:6?"
OM's cell phone's VERY loud, robotic voice says: "OKAY!!"
Got some serious "WTF" looks from the conductor and reader.
